A Local History
Sleepeezee was founded in 1924 by the Price Family in Croydon, London. It was in the late 1920s that Sleepeezee became one of the first manufacturers to produce spring interior mattresses. Today, Sleepeezee still makes all of its beds by hand using traditional time

With traditional family values at the heart of their business, working with the local community, Sleepeezee do their best to support local charities. To date, they have donated over £100,000 to Macmillan Cancer support, and continue to support the British Heart Foundation, and locally support Ellenor Children’s Hospice. At Sleepeezee they also believe in the welfare of the planet and people, they also aim to source materials from ecologically sound suppliers, as well as ensuring that no waste from their factory goes to landfill.
Striving for quality and great value for customers, sustainability is at the forefront of Sleepeezee’s practices. This approach dictates all of their suppliers are to be FSC certified, ensuring the timber purchased is from sustainably managed forests. They also use a wide range of natural and sustainable materials in their beds, including British wool, silk, cashmere and horsehair. They are active supporters of Princes Charles’ Campaign For Wool, which supports British sheep farmers and promotes the benefits of wool.
They are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and to using environmentally friendly, high quality materials and have achieved a Carbon Neutral organisation status. They are also a member of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme, which demonstrates sustainable excellence in environmental and corporate social responsibility.
